After the birth of my son Charlie, I faced the challenges of postpartum depression, finding myself in a dark and isolated place. I left my job at the medical labs and was feeling lost as a full-time, stay at home mother. I realized I needed a change. I longed for the passion I once had for life.
During Covid, many people began turning to a more sustainable lifestyle. And like many others I began baking sourdough bread. I wanted to be able to nourish my family with the most nutrient-dense and delicious bread. Unexpectedly it ignited a spark within me and I quickly became obsessed with the art of traditional baking methods.
With my science and chemistry background, I realized using ancient grains and milling them myself, changed how our bodies are able to digest grains and flours. I began perfecting my recipes and explored new flavor combinations and ways to incorporate using my sourdough starter in various breads and pastries.
This journey has not only fueled my passion for life again but has also connected me to a wonderful community filled with friendship and support. I am thrilled to share this newfound love with others and love sharing my bread. This is more than just baked goods to me; this has been the path to living the life I always imagined.
